Fire breaks out at business near Nationway

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Around 10 A.M. on June 19 a fire broke out at a business located right off of Nationway, at 2524 E. 7th Street.

The business, Ruben’s Metals, had flames coming from the back of the building, and heavy black smoke was being taken by the wind into the nearby neighborhood.

Nationway was then blocked off by Law Enforcement officers as the smoke was creating a barrier in which was not safe to approach, alternate routes were being directed.

In speaking with a worker of Ruben’s Metals, business was just going as normal and as cars were being crushed (after gas tanks were removed) and stacked one of them burst into flames right in front of their face, sparking the fire.

Heavy fire presence was on scene from multiple different fire agencies, a total of about seven fire engines were all working to battle the flames.

According to workers the fire started at the back of the business and worked all the way up to the front offices, causing smoke was come out wherever it could.

It took a couple of hours for the fire to be contained, and as of now no injuries have been reported.
