The original site of Buc-ee’s in Luling caught fire during demolition on Monday morning.
With its close proximity to the “world’s largest” Buc-ee’s, which opened about three weeks ago, the rumors sparked and quickly spread across social media.
According to the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Management, the new location had no damage.
What was the cause of the fire at Buc-ee’s?
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
“They were in the process of demolition and using the excavators when something started the fire,” Luling Deputy Fire Chief Keith Lohse told the Gonzales Inquirer. “There was no power or gas hooked up to the building. All utilities were off at the time. We don’t know what happened, but it appears they may have something and it ignited.”
When did the original Buc-ee’s open?
The original location opened in 2003, sparking the brand’s success and growth to 49 locations across nine states.
