Fire heavily damages Carteret County business

CEDAR POINT, N.C. (WITN) – A massive fire appears to have heavily damaged a furniture store in one Eastern Carolina town.

WITN is working to get exact details from fire officials, but employees at businesses in the Cedar Point area confirm seeing heavy fire damage at Sound Furniture on Cedar Point Boulevard. Al Barnes Carpets also appears to have been impacted by the fire.

Carteret County Public Information Officer Nick Wilson would only confirm that fire crews across the county responded to a large structure fire shortly after midnight.

Wilson referred us to Western Carteret County Fire Department who we’ve reached out to for more information.
