We got our first look at Jurassic World: Rebirth, the 7th film in the franchise taking place 5 years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion. The movie, starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey, will see humanity living in a world where the planet’s ecology has proven inhospitable to dinosaurs. The official synopsis for the #JurassicWorldRebirth movie says: “Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.” Scarlett Johansson’s character is a covert ops specialist hired to lead a team to extract some of that Dino DNA the #JurassicPark movies are known for having from the few dinosaurs that are still alive. A seemingly impossible task that apparently becomes even more complicated when she and her crew get stranded on an island, discovering a sinister secret that’s been hidden from the world for decades. What that secret is, who knows? We’ll have to wait and find out next year in July when #JurassicWorld: Rebirth hits theaters. And if you’re wondering if the franchise is in good hands, Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart and Jim Spencer are executive producers on the film, with Gareth Edwards directing from a script penned by the writer of the 1993 original movie, Jurassic Park.
