Last updated: August 22nd, 2024 at 12:50 UTC+02:00

All signs point to Samsung wanting to release a 2nd Galaxy Z Fold model this year. This mysterious foldable phone has been the subject of various rumors throughout the year, but now the so-called Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim has started hitting our radar faster than ever.

Our colleagues at GalaxyClub have unearthed the first alleged camera details pertaining to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim. And to top it all off, more alleged availability details have also emerged. Strap yourselves in!

An upgraded Under-Panel Camera

According to the latest information, Samsung will equip the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim — codename Q6A, model number SM-F958N — with a 10MP front-facing camera on the cover screen, while the rear-facing camera setup will include a 12MP ultrawide camera.

As yet, there are no details about the main and telephoto cameras, but interestingly, sources say that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim could introduce the most substantial UPC (Under Panel Camera) upgrade to date.

Reportedly, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim may have a 5MP UPC, up from the current 4MP unit used by the Galaxy Z fold 6.

The Slim might become official in September

Samsung’s Slim foldable phone, which might measure only 10mm when folded, might not be released everywhere. We’ve suspected that for a while, and so far, there’s no evidence to support a release beyond Korea and possibly China. There’s no trace of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim in Europe or the USA. However, the situation could change in our favor.

For what it’s worth, a new report by The Chosun Daily claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim could become official in Korea on September 25. The device will supposedly cost roughly 2.8 million won ($2,100).

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim will be thinner than the regular Fold 6 but supposedly boasts bigger screens, i.e., a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8-inch inner foldable display. It might also be the first Galaxy foldable phone to use titanium.

Samsung is currently testing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with Android 14 on board, which lends more credibility to the idea of an early market release before Android 15 becomes widespread.
