First Look at the JJJJound x Levi’s New York Fashion Week ‘Showroom’ Installation
JJJJound and Levi’s are making their presence felt at New York Fashion Week with Showroom, a pop-up to celebrate their recently revealed collaborative capsule that JJJJound describes as “an installation created to pay homage to the art of communicating commercial products in an artful setting.”
How the two brands translate this ethos is through an airy, minimalist space in New York City’s Lower East Side that aims to give consumers the chance to view product in a “showroom” setting, much like a buyer for a retailer would before placing a seasonal order. To this end, the 10-piece JJJJound x Levi’s collection is displayed on both clothing racks and split-open shipping cases, accompanied by various “high-low” ephemera ranging from artwork sourced via Etsy to custom-designed chairs.
The collection itself includes three different iterations of the iconic Levi’s 501 jean, a suede jacket, a flannel shirt, a tank top, a hat, a belt and two colors of a graphic tee inspired by ’90s grunge aesthetics. JJJJound connoisseurs will note that the loud graphic used on the shirt is a departure from the brand’s minimal designs, a wholly intentional design choice: a member of the JJJJound team noted to Hypebeast that collaborations provide an opportunity for the brand to step outside of their standard sphere and explore that of their collaborative partner in a different fashion.
Expect the JJJJound x Levi’s Showroom pop-up to be open to the public on September 6 and 7 from 11 AM to 6 PM, located at 91 Allen St. The full JJJJound x Levi’s collection will be available for purchase through the duration of the pop-up.
