From Jan. 6-12, the Ramsey Student Center at the University of Georgia will offer free fitness and wellness classes for their semi-annual Fitness Free Week.
The event, hosted by the Department of Recreational Sports in the Division of Student Affairs, allows students to try out classes before committing to purchasing a pass. According to their website, the department aims to promote well-being and healthy lifestyle choices to students and the wider UGA community.
Some of the classes available during Fitness Free Week include cycling, yoga, Strength & Stretch and Quick Fit. A full schedule with descriptions of each class is available on the Department of Recreational Sports website.
Unlimited Group Fitness Passes cost $107 for students, but during Fitness Free Week passes will be available at 25% off for $80.25. Similar discounts will be offered for the faculty and alumni/affiliate rates.
Small Group Training classes are also available to attend for free this week. Typically, these classes span eight weeks and cost students $60. These passes are not eligible for the 25% off discount.
No pre-registration is required for specific group fitness classes, but small group training classes require registration beforehand due to class size limits, with the size capped at 15 participants.
