Fitness icon Richard Simmons dies at 76

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Legendary fitness instructor Richard Simmons has died at the age of 76, reports say.

Simmons famously visited the TV20 studio back in 1992 to promote a new workout video.

His workout videos helped people lose weight back in the 80s and 90s, and put a smile on people’s faces.

His videos gained popularity again in 2020 when they were uploaded to YouTube during the pandemic to help people stay in shape.

According to reports, Simmons was found by his housekeeper at around 10 a.m. Saturday at his home in the Los Angeles area.

Emergency responders pronounced Simmons dead at the scene.
