Fitness Studio Coming to Old Fourth Ward | What Now Atlanta
A building in the Old Fourth Ward that formerly housed a bakery is flexing new tenants.
Fitness franchise BODYROK is planned for the building at 655 Highland Avenue NE formerly occupied by Highland Bakery, Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. It is expected to open in early 2025.
Highland Bakery closed earlier this year after reaching the end of a 20-year lease. At the time, it was reported that the structure was being sold to an undisclosed buyer. Now, Vantage Realty Partners is revamping the building with new tenants.
BODYROK provides pilates-inspired exercise in the form of 45-minute full-body workouts to build strength. The classes use a custom reformer machine to help boost metabolism, sculpt the body and improve energy levels. The concept began in California and has since grown to more than 50 studios across the U.S.
The new location in the Old Fourth Ward comes from franchisee Meredith Lobb, who brought the state’s first BODYROK to Colony Square in Midtown a few months ago. She became a fan of the studio when living in New York City and decided to bring the fitness franchise to her new home when she moved to Atlanta.
“We like to keep it fun and fresh,” she told What Now Atlanta at the time. “We definitely have a lot of variety in the moves and the routines to keep it exciting and challenging for our clients.”
A BODYROK location is also planned for Medley, an upcoming mixed-use development in Johns Creek, and one recently opened in Roswell.
