Flooding halts ETSU’s travel to Charleston for Saturday matchup with The Citadel

The Citadel’s opponent in Saturday’s football game, East Tennessee State University, may not make it to the game.

In a statement from ETSU’s Athletic Director, Dr. Richard Sander, the school revealed it is unable to finish its trip to Charleston because of flooding.

“Due to flash flooding in North Carolina, the ETSU Football team, at this time, is unable to finish traveling to Charleston, S.C. for the game versus The Citadel,” Sander said. “The team is safe and will spend the night in North Carolina. They will resume travel when the interstate reopens.”
