Florida basketball earned its fourth straight win to start the 2024-25 campaign, defeating Grambling State on Monday and Florida State on Friday. The undefeated start has the Gators inside the top 20 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, but the Gators remain at No. 19 after two weeks of play.
The Orange and Blue came in at No. 21 In the preseason rankings and moved up a spot last week to No. 19. Florida now trails Indiana by 40 poll points and has a solid 35-point cushion ahead of No. 20 Illinois.
Here are the Southeastern Conference programs in the Coaches Poll after two weeks of play.
SEC schools in the Coaches Poll top 25
Seven Southeastern Conference programs — including Florida — are among the top 25. The Auburn Tigers (No. 3) are the new highest-ranked team in the SEC, followed by Alabama Crimson Tide (T-No. 7), Tennessee Volunteers (No. 9), Kentucky Wildcats (No. 11), Florida (No. 19), Texas A&M Aggies (No. 23) and Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 24).
The Ole Miss Rebels earned 39 points in this week’s poll, the Texas Longhorns earned 14 and the Mississippi State Bulldogs earned five. All three teams remain unranked, though.
