Floridians already booking holiday travel, AAA says

Although it may seem early, people are already planning and booking their holiday travels.

According to AAA, nearly 65% of Floridians plan to take a trip between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

And if you’re one of these people, it is recommended to make your travel plans by next month for the best options.

For the Thanksgiving holiday, if you’re trying to beat the rush, the best travel days will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday

As for Christmas, the holiday falls on Wednesday, and it is best to arrive at your destination before Christmas Eve so you can avoid last-minute backups.

If you plan on booking a flight, book early for the best price and availability.

Also, book a direct flight that leaves early in the morning because afternoon and evening flights are more susceptible to delays and cancellations due to weather or other circumstances.

And connecting flights multiply the risk of something going wrong.

Again, you may think it is too early to plan, but this also serves as a friendly reminder to put in your vacation days so that no matter where or how you travel you have the availability to do so.
