The Foo Fighters have dropped out of a performance in Connecticut, more than two weeks after frontman Dave Grohl faced controversy.

Grohl announced earlier this month that he had fathered a child outside his marriage, and was working on regaining his wife and children’s trust.

On Thursday, the band said in a statement that it would no longer be performing at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport. There was no reason provided for the cancellation.

The band was originally set to headline the show on Sunday, and the festival said on social media that Jack White and Greta Van Fleet will be performing instead.

Here’s what to know.

Why did Foo Fighters cancel its performance at Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport?

The Foo Fighters were originally set to perform at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport this weekend, but the band announced Thursday it had cancelled its show.

“Foo Fighters will no longer be appearing at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival. Please check the festival website for more information,” the band said in a short announcement on Instagram.

No reason was given for the cancellation, and a representative for Foo Fighters declined to comment to the USA Today Network.

The music festival said on X that Jack White and Greta Van Fleet will be headlining Sunday’s show in the band’s place.

“Unfortunately, Foo Fighters have announced they’re no longer performing this weekend,” the festival said.

Dave Grohl announces birth of fourth daughter outside his marriage

The Foo Fighters dropped out of its scheduled performance this weekend two weeks after the band’s frontman, Dave Grohl, announced he fathered a child outside his marriage.

Grohl said on social media that his fourth daughter was recently born, and that he plans to be a “loving and supportive” parent to her.

“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” his statement said. “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

The singer and guitarist has been married to his wife, Jordyn Blum, since 2003. They have three daughters together.
