Footy fashion: Eight of the USL Super League’s best looks of the week
Avery GuthrieOct 25, 2024
This past week in the USL Super League, the fits? Fitting. The game-play? On fire. And style wasn’t just part of the pregame ritual—these looks brought the heat that transferred right to the pitch. With outfits this good, the rankings practically make themselves. So, here are INDIVISA’s top 8 USL Super League game-day looks of the week.
8. Delaney Lindahl – Fort Lauderdale United FC
A leather jacket works every time. Plus, Lindalh knew what she was doing with the styling. The defender draped it over a sickening off-the-shoulder top and low-waisted jeans that sat just right. The retro New Balance hat gave the look a little twist, so even though it might be our entry-level fave, Lindalh’s look already set a high bar.
7. Thelma Lóa Hermannsdóttir – Fort Lauderdale United FC
Hermannsdóttir understood the fall assignment, and she delivered. And nothing screams fall more than a sweater—all soft and sweet—styled with a cute school-girl skirt and tall brown boots. Seriously, the major autumn vibes had us reaching for our pumpkin spice lattes.
6. Jill Aguilera – Carolina Ascent FC
Jill Aguilera showed up in a crisp, off-white monochrome look that brought just the right amount of pre-game polish. Her tennis skirt and quarter-zip combo had us convinced she stepped right out of a retro sportswear ad—with a touch of finesse, of course.
5. Samantha Rosette – Brooklyn FC
Nothing like a little soccer jersey action to kick off game day, and Rosette’s Manchester United pick had us by the collar. Baggy jeans brought the thrifted cool factor. And the accessories—hello, waist chain and layered necklace—gave just enough bling to turn heads. Sometimes, it’s all in the details.
4. Giovanna DeMarco – Carolina Ascent FC
DeMarco is here to set the standard when it comes to athletic chic. The three stripes running down her sweats are iconic, and we need that killer Adidas jacket in our wardrobe right now. Of course, she went with the platform Sambas. A classic. DeMarco packed a punch with this streetwear moment.
3. Tori Hansen – Brooklyn FC
When in New York, yeah? Tori Hansen nailed this World Series moment by pairing a Yankees jersey with a little black skirt. And, she tied the fit together with some J’s for that urban edge. Hansen hit a home run with this one—a perfect blend of sports fandom and fashion-forward flair.
2. Laveni Vaka – Fort Lauderdale United FC
Laveni Vaka served the best runner-up look of the century. Every part of this ensemble qualifies as the statement piece, we don’t even know where to start. That denim vest? The dress shorts? Those knee-high heeled boots? Absolute showstoppers. But her belt might be the winner. Everyone ought to take a clothing masterclass from this lock-down defender.
1. Sasha Pickard – Brooklyn FC
Pickard’s look is the “hand of God” of USL Super League game-day fashion. She took us back to the 1986 World-Cup quarter finals when Diego Maradona etched his place in soccer history. The go-ahead-cheeky-handball of a goal that slipped past referees’ put jaws on the floor. It was illegal, iconic, and oh-so-legendary. Maradona gave Argentina the edge they needed to advance, and Pickard’s fit simply out-edged all the others this week. Honestly, this one should go down in history—Pickard’s look is literally everything. USL Super League gameday fashion is literally everything.
