For Pandora, Cophenhagen Fashion Week Was a Full-Circle Moment

In Its Native city of Copenhagen, Pandora proves that it can stand the test of time

Last week, Copenhagen Fashion Week unfolded with its usual flair—innovative runway shows, colorful street style, and the palpable cheer of Scandinavian summer. Among the many highlights was jewelry brand Pandora, which was actually founded in Copenhagen in the 1980’s by a Danish goldsmith. The brand’s first charm bracelets were introduced within the Danish market and by 2003 were expanded globally. Considering this, it makes sense why the brand chooses Copenhagen fashion week as the stage for its new endeavors.

As I experimented with different pieces in the studio, I was transported back to a memory of rummaging through Pandora charms my mom’s jewelry box as a kid. It was filled with ornate silver hearts that she would meticulously arrange on a bracelet or necklace, matching her mood or outfit. It’s moving to see how Pandora has evolved over the years. The brand manages to reflect modern style with its timeless, ageless versatile pieces like we see with its Icons of Love and Be Love pieces, while staying true to its roots. This makes it all the more fitting that their global brand ambassador is Pamela Anderson, a cultural icon who has remained relevant for decades, aging with joy and grace. Witnessing Pam mingle throughout the week – moving from table to table during Pandora’s dinner at the Opera House, chatting with editors at the Rotate fashion show on the final night – was to see the Pandora brand come alive.

The Rotate show marked another milestone for Pandora, as it was the first time they collaborated with a runway brand at CPHFW featuring their pieces throughout. Set in the lush Garden of the Royal Library, models graced the runway adorned in Pandora’s latest Essence Collection—a personal favorite of mine for the mixed metal pieces that easily pair and fit with each other when layered.
