FORECAST: Minor travel issues with dense fog and drizzle developing
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Merry Christmas everyone, and Happy Hannukah as well! Not the nicest weather we’ve seen, but thankfully we avoided the bitter cold this year.
The main story for Wednesday night into Thursday is the patchy fog and drizzle in store. A Dense Fog Advisory is in place for Douglas, Franklin and Anderson counties through noon Thursday. Those who are traveling late Christmas Day into Thursday morning, just give yourself some extra time with that fog in place. It’s a relatively damp few days with off-and-on drizzle and showers through Friday.
We have First Warns in place as there could be minor travel impacts. Thursday should have light showers at times, cloudy skies and highs in the upper 40s. Not a washout of a day by any means. We are seeing signs that Friday evening could have some slightly heavier intervals of rain in the evening. We are NOT concerned about any of this freezing as temperatures will stay in the 40s and 50s for highs.
The upcoming weekend looks great! Mid-50s each day, looking dry for the most part as well. There is a sign that a larger cold front comes in next Monday night as the 30s look to be back in store for highs to begin 2025.
