In the last 10 months, Sa’Kylee Woodard will go from winning a state championship with Canyon del Oro to being on New Mexico’s travel squad as a true freshman heading into a game against a SEC school.

Woodard is on New Mexico’s travel squad going to Auburn after not having that opportunity when the Lobos played Arizona in his hometown two weeks ago.

The true freshman is listed as a 6-foot-4 and 296-pound offensive guard, but he was recently moved to the defensive line and will be in the Lobos’ rotation wearing No. 93.

He wore No. 55 with the Dorados but the Lobos have two fifth-year seniors who wear that number — linebacker Antoineo Harris and fellow offensive lineman Jawaun Singletary (a center).
