Former Jay-Z Business Partner Slams Rapper As ‘Ruthless’ Amid Scathing Rape Allegations

An ex-business associate of Jay-Z, Damon Dash, has described him as “ruthless” while reflecting on how the rapper allegedly hindered his business ventures and potential earnings.

The 53-year-old entrepreneur also compared the Roc Nation boss to the villainous character Penguin from DC Comics and the hit TV show of the same name.

Jay-Z and Damon Dash have reportedly been feuding for over twenty years after the fallout from their Roc-A-Fella Records partnership.

During an appearance on “The Art of Dialogue,” Dash hinted that he is indifferent to the recent rape allegations against Jay-Z but finds an issue with the rapper interfering with his business ventures.

“Unless he’s [messing] my money up, I don’t give a f-ck what Jay’s doing,” Dash said, per Vibe. “But when he’s [messing] with my money, that’s when I be like, ‘You know what? Enough is enough.'”

While illustrating his point, the former Roc-A-Fella Records co-owner recounted how Jay-Z distanced himself from Rocawear, the iconic 2000s clothing brand they co-founded in 2005. Dash claimed that Jay-Z’s actions caused the cancellation of a deal that could have potentially earned him tens of millions of dollars.

“Right before Tommy Hilfiger signs the papers, [JAY-Z] makes an announcement saying he’s not with Rocawear, that he’s only [messing] with S. Carter,” the executive explained. “F-cked the whole [deal] up, and I just feel like he did that only because I was gonna make $40 million.”

According to Dash, there have been multiple instances where he was on the verge of securing significant payouts, only for Jay-Z to take actions that allegedly caused those deals to fall through.

He added, “Every time I could have made a really big check, he’s always stepped in and intentionally f-cked it up. Every time.”

As he reflected further, the 53-year-old entrepreneur remarked that his experiences with Jay-Z make the Roc Nation leader aptly comparable to “The Penguin,” the main villainous character in the eponymous Max miniseries.

“If you could compare him to a character now, I’d say he’s like the Penguin,” Dash said, adding, “He’s ruthless like that.”

He went on to criticize those who have condemned his past remarks about Jay-Z during podcasts and interviews.

“They make it like I just volunteered to start talking about [JAY-Z], but people are really asking me questions about him,” Dash said. “If everybody doesn’t want to hear me talk about JAY, why the f-ck do people keep asking me questions about him?”

The comments come after Jay-Z’s rape accuser scored a small victory in the rape case she filed against him.

The Roc Nation founder had earlier attempted to fast-track the case by filing multiple motions and requesting that the identity of Jane Doe be revealed.

However, presiding judge Analisa Torres ruled that her anonymity would be preserved for the time being and criticized Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, for his legal tactics.

In her ruling, Torres noted that Spiro’s repeated maneuvers to fast-track due process were a waste of judicial resources.

She also expressed disapproval of the New York-based attorney’s use of inflammatory language in addressing the accuser in previous filings.

“Carter’s lawyer’s relentless filing of combative motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks is inappropriate, a waste of judicial resources, and a tactic unlikely to benefit his client,” Torres said in her five-page ruling released on Thursday, per the Daily Mail.

She added, “The Court will not fast-track the judicial process merely because counsel demands it.”

The businessman amened his extortion suit against his rape accuser to include a defamation claim against her lawyer, Tony Buzbee.

According to Rolling Stone, in the amended filing, Jay-Z’s attorneys accused the Texas-based lawyer of launching a defamation campaign against the rapper.

They cited media threats made to “anyone who may have ever come into contact with [Sean ‘Diddy’] Combs,” who has been hit with multiple civil lawsuits from Buzbee.

They further argued that Buzbee’s intent was to defame Jay-Z, as he liked posts suggesting the rapper’s involvement in Combs’ alleged sexual assaults. Evidence of these “likes” where included in the filing.

Despite the setback, Jay-Z is believed to be returning to the drawing board to strategize how to win the case.

The rapper is reportedly prepared to do whatever it takes, including potentially implicating fellow rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, also named in the case.

A source told the outlet that the Roc Nation founder has “zero loyalty” to Diddy and would not hesitate to throw him “under the bus” if it means clearing his own name.

“The moment Diddy was arrested, Jay-Z scrubbed him from his existence,” a source said, referencing Diddy’s arrest in September on sex crimes charges, per the Daily Mail.

The source continued, “The only thing that he cares about is him never stepping foot inside a jail cell and his family being safe. Jay-Z is extremely powerful and will deploy any tactic necessary.”
