Onelife Fitness plans to spend $9 million to convert a former Giant Food grocery store at in Manassas to a 55,000-square-foot sports club expected to open this fall.
The new fitness club will be located in the Westgate Plaza shopping center at 8025 Sudley Road, near Cold Stone Creamery.
People can get a look at the plans at a preview center, which will be open Tuesdays to Fridays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The company says the project will bring more than 100 jobs to the community.
OneLife already had one fitness center in nearby Gainesville, which is one of 30 in the Washington, D.C., area. The company has more than 50 that range into West Virginia, Maryland and Georgia.
The fitness sports club in Manassas will feature cardio and strength equipment, a saltwater swimming pool, large athletic turf training areas, 3,000 square feet of outdoor training space, specialized classrooms and studios, a kids club and a recovery area.
