Former WILX Sports Reporter Ahmed Fareed living out dream as NBC Host for the Olympics

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Ahmed Fareed is a rising star at NBC Sports, and he is covering his fifth Olympics, but his first as a studio host.

Fareed was the starting quarterback for the Sparta Spartans in high school, and among his first jobs in television was at WILX, where he served as the weekend sports anchor and reporter under Tim Staudt from 2003 to 2004.

Ahmed joined Fred Heumann from Paris on a Zoom call and discussed his memories of Lansing and doing his “dream job,” working the Olympic Games for NBC.
