Free exercise workshop offered for older adults

FARGO — A free exercise workshop hosted by Fargo Cass Public Heath is slated to begin in October, and older adults in the area are encouraged to register for the 12-week program.

The evidence-based exercise and behavior change workshop, called “Fit and Strong!” is geared toward improving lower extremity strength and developing and maintaining an active lifestyle.

The twice-weekly classes will be structured toward older adults or those with lower extremity osteoarthritis. They will include 60 minutes of exercise and 30 minutes of group discussion and health education.

The classes will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays at two locations/times:

  • 9-10:30 a.m. at Olivet Lutheran Church, 1330 S. University Drive.
  • 1:30-3 p.m. at the main Fargo Cass Public Heath building, 1240 25th St. S.

The first session is scheduled for Oct. 8 and the final session will take place Jan. 9, 2025.

Registration is required. For more information or to register, contact Fargo Cass Public Heath at
