Blakely’s new outdoor fitness area encourages community members to pursue a healthy lifestyle — for free.
The borough held a grand opening Aug. 14 for its National Fitness Court at the recreational complex. The public can use the equipment at no charge.
The National Fitness Court is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Featuring rubberized flooring, the fitness area includes rings and pull-up bars, as well as boxes for step-ups and box jumps. There are also areas to do sit-ups, push-ups and burpees.
The fitness court opened in June, but the borough officially celebrated the opening last week. The project cost around $160,000.
