From fitness to family time: Bakersfield locals reveal their 2025 New Year’s resolutions

Eyewitness News hit the streets of Bakersfield to ask residents what’s their 2025 New Year’s resolutions.

Resolutions ranged from health, self-improvement, building faith, or spending time with loved ones.

Here are some of their responses:

“I want to sit in silence or pray for 10 minutes a day. I want to read more and I want to run more, and I want to hug more.”

“Spend more time with my family and my grandkids if they get back from college.”

“You know this year I don’t have New Year’s resolution. I just try to do it all year long. I try to be a good person and follow through all year long rather than just pick one day of the year to do it.”

“To go back home to England for a while. That’s where I come from.”

“To make more money this year and buy a house.”

“To be a better person and finish my school.”

“This year, just to stay healthy, keep my family safe, just have a good year.”

“Being healthy, maintaining a routine of health. And writing a book, because I always wanted to so mind as well do it now. And I’ve picked working on myself and growing emotionally.”

“Well actually this morning, we were actually writing our 2025 plan, which included a plan for our lofty resolution goals. Like being more committed to family, getting more organized.”

“So I’m in band right now. I’m trying to make some cool music for my family and friends. I’m going to wake up and go practice every day.”

“I really don’t have one but when there’s new beginnings, I do try to improve my positive outlook on life. I do try and work on that. You know with all the negative stuff that’s going on around us, I do try to use the Bible to help me stay positive and stay hopeful.”

“Just working on myself and being the best self I can be towards other people.”

“My resolution is just to be healthier and more fit, and be a good family member and friend to everybody.”

“My New Year resolution this year is I’m going to work on being a better husband, obviously fitness and health, and just my faith in God.”
