From Oklahoma flair to global influences, here’s 9 pop-up gift markets to shop

Opportunities abound to have fun while searching for gifts for friends and loved ones at holiday specialty markets in the Oklahoma City metro area and beyond. Organizers say there’s plenty to see and buy. Here are several market events to consider. Admission is free, unless otherwise noted.

A little bit country

A Country Christmas Holiday Market will be 2 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at Scissortail Park. The annual market returns to Love’s Travel Stops Stage & The Promenade for an outdoor holiday market supporting local Oklahoma businesses and artisans. Home décor, boutiques, clothing, jewelry, candles, woodwork, gourmet food, pet items and books will be sold. Live music from local cover band 90’s Country Live!, and the vocal trio OK3, who were contestants from NBC’s “The Voice,” plus others, will be hand. And Santa will visit from 5 to 8 p.m.

Gifts with an Indigenous flair

The annual Winter Holiday Art Market is set for Dec. 7-8 at the First Americans Museum, 659 First Americans Blvd. The museum will host more than 40 premier artists during the market. It is free to the public and will include artist demonstrations, musical performances and community partner booths. In addition to artist vendors, the market will include free gift wrapping and a visit from Indigenous Santa. Visitors are also encouraged to donate a toy to donate in support of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Child Welfare Program. Be there with bells on

Sleigh Bells Farmers Market will be noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 8 at the OKC Farmers Market, 311 S Klein. The market will feature 80 boutique vendors selling items on two floors of the farmers market event venue. Art for the holidays

Holiday Artist Market at Factory Obscura is set for 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 14 at Factory Obscura, 25 NW 9. This is the second of two holiday markets offered at Factory Obscura this year. Art created by more than 30 artists will be featured.

Buy gifts with an Oklahoma touch

The Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department’s Holiday Pop-Up shop continues through Dec. 20 in the Strata Tower lobby at 123 S Kerr Ave. The store features Oklahoma-themed products and local goods. Holidays at the Well

Norman’s Twilight Market will present Holidays at the Well from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 8 at The Well, 210 James Garner Ave., Norman. The market will feature local vendors and artists, plus children’s arts and crafts, photos with Santa or the Grumpy Green Guy, food trucks, complimentary caricatures by LOL Cartoons and a Norman Animal Welfare animal adoption event. Experience Midtown retailers at one site

The Midtown Holiday Pop-Up Shops will be open on weekends through Dec. 20 at NW 10 and Hudson, 323 NW 10 in Midtown. Many Midtown retail outlets will rotate through the pop-up shops, offering shoppers an eclectic mix of items for purchase. Gift giving with a global flair

Pambe Ghana’s Global Market continues through Dec. 24 at 7908 N Western. Elementary students at the La’Angum Learning Center in Ghana and international artisans benefit from purchases made at the shop. The learning center was founded by Oklahoma City University graduate Alice Azumi Iddi-Gubbels. Pambe Ghana has brought fair trade items to the state for more than 15 years. Tulsa

Visit the Tulsa Christkindlmarkt through Dec. 8 at the German-American Society of Tulsa Center, 1429 Terrace Drive in Tulsa. This event in Tulsa’s Midtown area will feature local artisans and vendors offering handmade gifts, steins, candles, wine, books, nutcrackers and other items. A children’s area and Bethlehem Village will also be featured. This market also offers German cuisine like bratwurst, schnitzel sandwiches and beef goulash soup plus apple strudel and black forest trifle.
