Funding restored for Small Business Administration disaster loans

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KTIV)—The new legislation, approved by Congress and signed by President Biden, will fund the Small Business Administration (SBA) with $2 billion.

This legislation allows the SBA to resume issuing disaster loans.

Residents and businesses can now receive the disaster loan assistance needed to recover from recent disasters, including those in Siouxland.

The SBA says they will quickly update applicants regarding their loan status and the next steps to take after placing many loan applications on hold.

The Small Business Administration provides low-interest disaster loans to homeowners, renters, businesses and nonprofit organizations to rebuild, repair and replace disaster-damaged property.

Those affected by recent disasters are invited to apply for a disaster loan online at sba.gov/disaster or in person at a Disaster or Business Recovery Center.

For recovery center locations or application assistance, call (800) 659-2955.
