Gallagher buys Filos Agency
Deal follows recent transactions in Australia and the UK
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Filos Agency in New York for an undisclosed sum.
Filos Agency serves both business and individual clients across New York, focusing on property and casualty insurance solutions. Following the acquisition, Filos Agency’s leader Thomas Costantakos and his team will maintain their Long Beach office as they integrate into Gallagher Agency Alliance.
A merger & acquisitions model, Gallagher Agency Alliance partners with agencies specializing in small business P&C insurance and employee benefits.
Costantakos’s camp will be under the guidance of Jen Tadin, who heads Gallagher Select, a US division for small business property and casualty.
“I am delighted to welcome Tom and his associates to Gallagher.”
The swoop for Filos Agency in the US follows recent acquisitions by Gallagher in the UK and Australia.
In London, Gallagher previously snapped up investment consulting firm Redington Ltd, while its newest deal in Sydney involves Via Financial Group.
“As a leader in the investment consulting space, Redington brings exceptional talent and represents a fantastic cultural fit,” the global broker’s CEO said at the time. “Their deep capabilities in modelling and investment market research will enhance our existing consulting services and help our clients achieve superior financial security outcomes.”
He also said of the Australian transaction: “Via Financial Group is a highly regarded firm whose financial advisory services complement our existing benefits consulting operations in Australia. I am excited to welcome the Via Financial Group team to our growing, global Gallagher family of professionals.”
Across approximately 130 countries, Gallagher provides insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting services through its owned operations and a network of brokers and consultants.
