GAMINGbible’s Games Of The Year 2024, as voted by you
I’ll be honest, I was a little surprised by this one. In a year where everyone – the GAMINGbible team included – is fawning over Astro Bot, I really thought the PlayStation-exclusive platformer would clean up.
It’s quite nice, then, to see our readers go a slightly different route and pick Final Fantasy VII Rebirth; a game that’s more than deserving of the ultimate accolade.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an absolutely stunning piece of work, offering up a gorgeous sandbox for us to play in and grounding it with one of the most genuinely likeable casts in any RPG ever. Yes, there’s open-world busywork, but it feels a lot less like a chore when you simply get to spend more time hanging out with Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and the gang.
Throw in some truly excellent combat, terrifyingly huge boss battles, and one of the best minigames of all time in Queen’s Blood, and you have a very worthy Game Of The Year winner.
