Georgann Hauser

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George S. and Winifred “Sis” (Brumbaugh) O’Brian. On March 24, 1979, she married Donald W. Hauser. He preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2012, after 32 years of marriage.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph P. O’Brian of Altoona and Donald W. Hauser Jr. and wife, Beth, of Cherry Tree; six grandchildren: Joseph O’Brian Jr. and Dustin O’Brian, both of Altoona, and Tarra, Torrie, Traci and Trevor Hauser, all of Cherry Tree; a brother, Steve O’Brian and wife, Bonnie, of Duncansville; and a sister, Kay Niemi of Altoona.

Georgie was an Altoona High School graduate and retired from the Altoona Area School District as a van driver after 38 years of service. She was a member of the Newburg Fire Hall, Catholic War Vets and Cesare Battisti Club, where she enjoyed socializing, being with her friends and playing pull tickets.

She loved crocheting and making blankets for her family and friends’ children and was an avid reader. Most of all, she enjoyed the company of her loving family, especially her grandchildren.

A memorial service for Georgie is being planned for a later date.
