George Clooney Making Broadway Debut In ‘Good Night, And Good Luck.’

George Clooney is set to make his Broadway debut in the new play ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ taking place in Spring 2025. Tony Award-winner David Cromer will direct this production, co-written by Clooney and Grant Heslov, based on their 2005 film of the same name. Clooney directed the film and played Fred Friendly and his co-star David Strathairn starred as news journalist Edward R. Murrow. In this stage adaptation, Clooney will take on the role of Murrow, who died in 1965. “I am honored, after all these years, to be coming back to the stage and especially to Broadway, the art form and the venue that every actor aspires to,” said Clooney in a statement. Cromer added that Murrow “operated a kind of moral clarity that feels vanishingly rare in today’s media landscape.” The director explained that there is a sense of “immediacy” in early TV broadcasts that “can only be effectively captured on stage.”
