Get Ready for the PS5 Pro: Here's What We Know About Preordering
If you’re a serious gamer, you’re probably waiting for the release of the PlayStation 5 Pro with much anticipation. Gamers have been speculating about the latest iteration of Sony’s innovative gaming console for some time now, and the company finally shared news about the PlayStation 5 Pro today. CNET editor Scott Stein already got some hands-on time with the PS5 Pro and was able to do a side-by-side comparison with the existing PlayStation 5. Now we’ve learned you can officially preorder the PS5 Pro beginning Sep. 26, 2024.
The first-ever PS5 was released in 2020, and the PS5 Pro includes some fantastic upgrades over the first edition, including clearer and more lifelike images. Sony upgraded the GPU on the PS5 Pro for memory that’s 28% faster than the current PS5. Additional upgrades include an extra 67% more compute units and advanced ray tracing so you can get faster light rays as you play. The PS5 Pro also displays graphics with faster frame rates to produce crisp visuals while playing even the most action-filled games. The PS5 Pro is capable of refresh rates of up to 120Hz and includes Tempest 3D audio tech for an immersive soundscape.
