Ghost of Tsushima 2, and Other Surprises in Sony’s Latest State of Play

The latest Sony PlayStation State of Play dropped, offering a look at games like “Monster Hunter Wilds,” “Dragonage The Veilguard,” and new modes for the ever-popular “Astro Bot.” However, there were some big surprises that were revealed, which include the long-awaited announcement for “Ghost of Tsushima 2.”

The 30-minute State of Play opened with a look at the trippy and frightening journey through “The Midnight Walk.” Players take on the role of a clay pot-type character that traverses through a world full of nightmare fuel.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

After much speculation, Sony also announced two games in the “Horizon Zero Dawn” universe. One is the remaster of the original game, which is set to release in October for PS5 and PC. The new remaster will feature updated graphics along with over 10 hours of re-recorded dialogue for in-game conversations.

Joining this remaster is the newest entry in the “Horizon Zero Dawn” universe, which is the Lego-fied adventure called “Horizon Adventures.” Players will replay the original game in all its Lego glory.

Though the Lego version of “Horizon Zero Dawn” was not much of a surprise, the State of Play featured a big shock in the controversial yet popular “Palworld” finally made its way to the console.

Palworld Drops on PS5 Today

“Palworld” was originally released on Steam, becoming one of the biggest launches the platform has ever seen. The game was described as “Pokemon with guns,” and is now facing a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokemon Company for “multiple patent infringements.”

Despite the lawsuit, the shoot-em-up and creature-capture adventure is officially launching today.

Fans have long been asking when “Palworld” would get a console edition, and that day is today. Everyone can now join in on a game that might not be around if the lawsuit between Nintendo and The Pokemon Company results in the game being shut down.

Though the latest State of Play featured updates on games that have already been revealed like “Monster Hunter Wilds,” the end of the conference dropped the biggest surprise ever.

Ghost of Tsushima 2

The sequel to the award-winning Ghost of Tsushima was announced. The new sequel is called Ghost of Yotei and is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 in 2025.

The trailer was packed with a setup that includes an unnamed character speaking about all the Ronin “hunting” a masked figure in the game. This masked figure is revealed towards the end of the trailer, revealing that Sucker Punch Studios is moving away from Jin Sakai and focusing on a brand-new protagonist, who is female.

The trailer features similar elements in terms of horse riding through vast landscapes and a ton of swordplay, but it appears this new female protagonist is ready to use firearms to her advantage. She sports a rifle and aims it with precision.

Also, she appears to be holding a sort of guitar instrument on her back, which could mean that there is to be some sort of musical nature to the new weaponry used. Either way, fans have been waiting for the announcement of a sequel, and it is finally here.

There is sure to be more information revealed on the sequel, but at least fans have a look at what the new sequel has to offer.
