Giants expect Drew Lock to start at QB against Colts
It looks like Drew Lock will be leading the Giants offense as the team tries to avoid extending their franchise record to 11 straight losses when they face the Colts on Sunday.
Lock went for an MRI on his right shoulder on Monday after getting banged up during last Sunday’s loss to the Falcons. On Tuesday, head coach Brian Daboll told reporters that the tests showed no damage that would keep the quarterback from playing and that Lock is expected to start.
Lock made two starts earlier this year, but was sidelined by heel and elbow injuries for Week 15. Tommy DeVito suffered a concussion against the Ravens in that game, which led to Lock’s return to the lineup in Week 16.
The Giants are currently on track to have the first overall pick in the draft. If they secure it, the expectation will be that the team will use the selection on a player that they think will allow them to stop having to play the likes of Lock or DeVito in the future.
