Golisano Institute walks students through business internships
The Golisano Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship is offering an accelerated internship program. It’s putting students ahead of the game.
Golisano VP for career & personal development Dr. Caterina Caiazza and student Brittani Diamond join ARC Rochester with more.
“Traditionally in higher education, students aren’t required to complete an internship as part of their degree program,” Dr. Caiazza says. “And even if they [are], they typically don’t complete those internships until far along in their academic program.
“At Golisano Institute, students are within the workforce within six months of starting the program.”
The internship program requires students to explore industries with internships. Brittani Diamond did a marketing internship; now she works in marketing at Sweet Pea.
“You see business in a different way because you’re submerged,” Diamond says. “It was such a small culture there that I was able to cross-train in all the different areas.”
