PORTLAND (WGME) – Governor Janet Mills’ Energy Office has launched the Maine Clean Energy Jobs Network, which will direct job seekers to local clean energy employers and training programs.

The network was developed and launched through a partnership with the energy office and the state’s Departments of Labor and Community Development.

It was established to work with other state agencies, employers, colleges, workforce training organizations and industry to expand job opportunities in Maine’s clean energy sector.

The Governor’s Energy Office’s job board currently has close to 30 employers seeking workers and more than 270 jobs available.

Earlier this month, Mills announced that Maine had 15,000 clean energy jobs, surpassing any other New England state, and that the clean energy sector contributed $2.3 billion to Maine’s economy in 2022.
