Greater Green Bay Chamber recognizes business success at annual awards luncheon
GREEN BAY (WLUK) — The Green Bay business community gathers once a year to honor some of their own at the Greater Green Bay Chamber’s Business Recognition Awards and Showcase.
It’s an opportunity at the KI Convention Center for companies to share what they have to offer.
“This is an event I’ve been attending for decades and its inspiring always enjoy seeing what companies are up and coming,” said Jeff Mirkes with Downtown Green Bay Inc. .
When a company is able to grow its sales or workforce, implement a unique strategy or accomplish something extraordinary, chamber officials say others can benefit from the success.
“It’s so vital to look to our business community to understand what strengths we have what successes they’ve experienced along the way and being able to share and tell that story,” said Eric DeKorne, the chamber’s Vice President of Membership.
“Membership is strong and growing… and we’re continuing to see engagement,” said DeKorne.
The chamber here, like in other communities, stands as a pillar of support for area businesses, advocating for the interests of the business community.
To that end, the chamber celebrates dedication, innovation and commitment with its Business Recognition Awards each year.
FOX 11’s Mark Leland emcees the awards and announces the winners in four categories.
Avergent, an employee benefits advisement firm, took the honor of the Entrepreneurial Award.
The City of Green Bay won the Special Accomplishment Award for creating the Shipyard Project.
“A lot of partners involved but really grateful to the chamber for their recognition of some good work that’s been done,” said Eric Genrich, Green Bay Mayor.
BAYCOM won the Growth Award for growing its business.
And Sandy Fragale, who leads Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Specialists, was named Business Person of the Year.
Business success leads to a better overall economy for all.
“It’s really a positive impact all throughout and leading to economic growth, community development and all great things,” added DeKorne.
