Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame announces class of 2024

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame announced its class of 2024 Wednesday, showcasing area athletes, coaches and more who will be honored during an induction dinner and ceremony.

This year, the hall will honor:

• Dan Brooks – Coaching
• Connie Calloway – Archery
• Eddie Courtney – Coaching
• Dan Fleser – Media
• Victoria Gillenwater – Equestrian
• Russ Johnson – Track
• Michelle Marciniak – Basketball
• David Martin – Football
• Heath Shuler – Football
• John Wright – Official

Gwen Jackson will also receive the Pat Summitt Ignite Greatness Award, and Roger Frazier will receive special recognition. The Chad Pennington Professional Athlete of the Year award will go to Jauan Jennings. Mike Capps will take home the Buck Vaughn Legacy Award.

The ceremony is slated for August 22 and will feature speakers Rick Neuheisel, Houston Nutt and Adam Zucker.
