Green Bay Entertainment Venues Issue Warning about Ticket Purchases

ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Entertainment venues in the Green Bay area issued a warning Tuesday about “increasing ticket buying issues from secondary selling sites.”

Leaders from TicketStar, the Resch Center, The Weidner, the Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center and Meyer Theatre say customers are buying tickets from secondary sites even when tickets are available through TicketStar, the official provider of tickets for those venues. Buying from other sites can lead to additional fees, the venues warn.

While the venues acknowledge that most secondary ticket sellers are legitimate businesses, the venues say that buying directly from them will provide the best price and the most protection.

Terry Charles of PMI, the group that owns TicketStar, warns that patrons should go to the venue’s official website rather than following the top link that is returned on a web search.
