Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business host Carrot Festival at CSUB

On Nov. 16, 2024, the Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business hosted the first-ever Kern County Carrot Festival at CSUB’s Alumni Park.

The Executive Director of Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business, Aaron Heged, says the event serves as a reminder of how important agriculture is to the Central Valley region.

“This is the first time we’re trying this,” said Heged, “We figured we need to acknowledge one of the largest commodifies grown here in Kern County.”

The event had it all, from carrot cake to carrot juice, and each guest got to take home some carrots as well.

Heged says he’s happy the event met its two goals, which were to be fun and informative for everyone who attended.

“One (goal) is education, to get people to know how important agriculture is to this region,” said Heged. “The second is about having fun and learning information.”

Grimm Family Center for Agricultural Business says they hope to do more events like this one in the future.
