Group of students travel from across southeast to help Cullman families in need

CULLMAN, Ala. (WBRC) – This week in Cullman, a group of students will be helping people in need with home repairs. Students with World Changers have traveled from churches in Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, and South Carolina to give back.

World Changers is a mission organization that helps families in need in the Southeast. Students come and help families who may not be able to afford home repairs with tasks like painting, building, and fixing.

Project Coordinator, David Hatfield, said students who participate each week are eager to give back.

“They pay upwards of $300 a piece to come, sleep on an air mattress to be the hands and feed like Jesus,” said Hatfield.

The group will be in Cullman through Saturday. AV Technician, Ryan Sherrill, said it’s rewarding for both the students and homeowners.

“To see the joy on their faces as they’re helping out the homeowners and to see the homeowners experience not only having their repairs done or whatever needs to happen but also that these kids are here to serve and share Jesus and care about them. They took their time to be here,” said Sherrill.
