Fanatec GT World Challenge America has published its provisional entry list for this weekend’s races at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) on 18/19 May.
The tentative 16-car field will feature its share of new and returning cars.
First, DXDT Racing’s Corvette fleet is now up to full strength, as the #63 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R of Alec Udell and Corvette Racing works driver Tommy Milner will join the grid for the first time in the Pro class. Udell and Milner will be joined by the Pro-Am #08 Corvette of Scott Smithson and Bryan Sellers, who had a difficult but productive first race weekend with the car at Sebring.
AF Corse USA has returned to GT World Challenge America for the first time since 2022, fielding a Pro-Am line-up that will be familiar to those who’ve been watching Michelin Le Mans Cup this season: Custodio Toledo and Riccardo Agostini, in the #88 Ferrari 296 GT3.
Toledo is a GT3 newcomer in 2024, who has prior experience in GT4 and Ferrari Challenge racing. He and his co-driver Agostini, a past champion in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, finished third in the opening Le Mans Cup race at Barcelona. This car was meant to compete in the GT America races at Sonoma before track surface issues in testing led Toledo to withdraw.
Montreal Motorsports Group’s #92 Porsche 911 GT3 R is on the entry list once again – though it remains to be seen if the car will appear after no-shows at Sonoma and Sebring – and Esses Racing is back for its home race, as planned, as the sole Am class entry with Alan Metni joining Will Hardeman in the #19 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
Meanwhile, RS1’s #85 Porsche will have a refreshed Pro line-up – as Porsche Carrera Cup North America graduate Jake Pedersen steps into the car alongside Trent Hindman. Pedersen made his first GT3 start last October at the Indianapolis 8 Hour race.
