Gulfport Luxury RV Resort opens for business after months of construction

GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) – The Gulfport Luxury RV Resort at the corner of Cowan Road and Highway 90 is now open for business after construction began in August 2023.

A large group gathered at the new resort on Tuesday for a ribbon cutting to celebrate its grand opening.

The newly opened resort covers 14 acres of land. It features over a hundred RV pads, a clubhouse with a cafe, and even a resort-style pool.

The park’s owner P.J. Vicari said 10 to 15 job opportunities are available at the new resort.

He also said the place will attract people from surrounding communities because it stands out from other parks.

“It’s going to bring people to enjoy the other things there is to do in Gulfport. The beach, restaurants,” Vicari said. “People that are coming to stay with me are going to other businesses in the area and it supports everyone. The customer service we can offer to guests I think would be well above anyone else in the area.”

Kenny Frederic and his wife brought their RV to the resort from the suburbs of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Frederic said this place is better than any RV resort they’ve ever been to.

“We’re enjoying it very much. Nice landscaping all you know, it’s nice, couldn’t ask for any better,” Frederic said.

Gulfport Mayor Billy Hewes says the resort will attract people from all over the coast and neighboring states.

“It’s very unique and I think it’s a game changer in RV and the experience folks can have on this coast,” Hughes said. “We have so many multidimensional opportunities and investments. Everything from economy to the tourism bases that is really everything to what we do.”
