Gwyneth’s dress-down Christmas do is a low-key look

Cheering news for any chic dressers who shiver at the prospect of office Christmas parties and the obligatory shrugging on tinselly, itchy Rudolph the Reindeer jumpers. Gwyneth Paltrow has set this year’s tone, and Christmas jumpers are out.

At a ‘holiday’ party held for her lifestyle brand Goop last night, the 52-year-old actress and entrepreneur was photographed wearing a black double-breasted coat, floor length dark blue skirt and black heels. Clutching her spectacles in her hand, she struck an elegant but notably sombre tone, perhaps appropriate given recent news that GOOP has had to cut a sizable number of its 216-strong-staff since September.
