Harrison County crews battling large fire at business on Hwy 49

GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) – Harrison County Fire Rescue is working a large fire at a pallet business Monday afternoon.

According to the county, the fire broke out on Highway 49 north of Highway 53, near Jim Banks Road.

Cal Robertson with Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) says Highway 49 is closed in both directions in the area because crews had to pull a fire hose across the road.

Viewers reported wood pallets on fire behind the business. WLOX has a reporter on scene.
