H.S. Girl’s Soccer District Championship Games

• Class 1 District 1 Championship Game
  • No. 1 Saxony Lutheran defeats No. 3 Maplewood-Richmond Heights, 4-0.
    • Saxony Lutheran won District 1 and advanced to the Final Four. The Lady Crusaders will travel to World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton to face the Disrict 4 champion, Friday, May 31.
• Class 4 District 1 Championship Game
  • No. 1 Jackson defeats No. 3 Oakville, 1-0.
    • The Lady Indians won their 7th-straight district title Thursday, in head coach Justin McMullen’s final season with the program.

The Class 3 District 1 Championship Game between No. 1 Notre Dame and hosts, No. 2 Cape Central was scheduled for Thursday, however, lightning in the vicinity postponed the game. The remake date is Friday, May 17, at 5 p.m.

H.S. Baseball District Playoffs

• Class 5 District 1 Quarterfinals
  • No. 1 Festus defeats No. 8 Sikeston, 11-6.
  • No. 4 DeSoto defeats No. 5 Cape Central, 4-1. (Game played Wednesday in anticipation of weather)
• Class 6 District 1 Semifinals
  • No. 5 Fox defeats No. 1 Jackson, 4-1.

SEMO Baseball

• SEMO defeats UT Martin, 3-2.
  • Ben Palmer hit the game-winning two-run home run in the 8th inning to see SEMO past UT Martin, in a game that lasted less than two hours.
