Here are Friday’s high school sports results for the Appleton and Green Bay area

BOYS TENNIS

WIAA State Tournament

MADISON – Alex Thomas of Notre Dame and two doubles teams have advanced to the WIAA boys state tennis semifinals in Division 2 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

Thomas advanced to the semifinals with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Joshua Horak in a D2 singles third-round match. He will play Anderson Fortney of La Crosse Aquinas in a semifinal match Saturday morning.

Matt Gugluizza and Aidan Burich of Notre Dame advanced to the D2 doubles semifinals with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Luke Yoon and Vishal Luthra of New Berlin Eisenhower. Gugluizza and Burich will play Miles Gourlay and Jack Gilpin of University School-Milwaukee in the semifinals.

Grant Bergstrom and Wesley Auth of St. Mary Catholic advanced to the semifinals with a 4-6, 6-3, 10-3 win over Nick Bittner and Nate Hall of Xavier. They will play Nate Carson and Finn Milleman of Catholic Memorial in the semifinals.
