Here are Friday’s high school sports results for the Appleton area

BASEBALL

Kimberly 6, Appleton West 5

KIMBERLY – The Papermakers scored three runs in the fifth inning to rally past the Terrors.

Appleton West made things interesting in the seventh, pushing across one run, but couldn’t get the equalizer.

Sawyer Deering paced the Kimberly attack, going 3-for-4, while Ben Johnston was 2-for-3. Brady Koester and Brady Coons drove in two runs apiece. Koester homered, while Coons doubled.

Dimitry Edmunds led the Terrors, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Ryder Hoffman was 2-for-4.

The win moves Kimberly to 5-0 in the Fox Valley Association and 7-0 overall, while West falls to 2-4 and 2-5.

Appleton North 8, D.C. Everest 1

APPLETON – The Lightning amassed 13 hits in the win over the Evergreens.

Jack Kangas pitched a complete game and struck out two for the Lightning. Alex Ramus went 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Nick Bergin was 2-for-2 and scored twice. 

Appleton North kicks off a 4-game week next week with a game against Fond du Lac on Monday.

Kewaunee 7, Brillion 2

BRILLION – The Storm scored three times in the second and four times in the sixth to earn the nonconference win.

Brett Paulsen was 2-for-3 to lead the Kewaunee offense, while pitcher Ayden Smidle picked up the win, going 6⅔ innings, allowing two earned runs and four walks while striking out four.

Chase Braun and Cole Dvorachek led the Lions with two hits each.

Brillion committed five errors in the field.

SOFTBALL

Denmark 4, Wrightstown 3

WRIGHTSTOWN – The Vikings scored late to slip past the Tigers in North Eastern Conference action.

Shaelyn Kraschnewski struck out 10 to lead Denmark. The left-handed pitcher also allowed eight hits and three runs over seven innings, while walking one.

Denmark got on the board in the top of the third inning after Kraschnewski tripled and Wrightstown committed an error to score a run.

Olivia Ullman doubled in the sixth to knot the score at 3-3 for Denmark.

The Vikings’ Maggie Frank pitched one inning of shutout ball in relief.

NEW Lutheran/ Providence Academy 4, Hilbert 3

GREEN BAY – The Blazers scored a run in their half of the seventh inning to defeat the Wolves.

NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy is now 5-3.

Hilbert drops to 1-5 with the loss.

GIRLS SOCCER

Appleton North 8, Sturgeon Bay 0

APPLETON – The Lightning got three goals from Kalli Drexler in the win over the Clippers.

Brinley Dunsirn, Claire Zulewski, Lexi Schuh, Taylee Jones and Nevaeh Higgins also scored for Appleton North.

Drexler, Dunsirn, Zulewski, Jones, Maddie Hacker, Mari Ward and Natalie Roe each had an assist for Appleton North.

Kimberly 1, Union Grove 0

KIMBERLY – Senah Hanes scored on a penalty kick after being fouled in the box to lead the Papermakers to the win over the Broncos.

The game was scoreless at halftime.

Winneconne Under the Lights Invitational

BOYS

WINNECONNE 214, SHEBOYGAN FALLS 123, OMRO 103, BRILLION 85, SHIOCTON 64, SEYMOUR 61, VALDERS 40, ST. IGNATIUS CATHOLIC 2

Winneconne’s Cody McLeod won the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of :11.25 and :23.42, respectively. Grant Wenzelow won the 1,600 and 3,200 with times of 4:46.97 and 10:20.06. Ben Harmon won the long jump with a jump of 21-0.5 and the 400 with a time of :52.41.

In the relays, Winneconne’s Brady Immel and Jack Quigley were on the winning 400- and 800-meter relay teams. Immel and Quigley were joined by Koltyn Kachur and Karter Hawthorne to win the 400 relay with a time of :45.93. Bryce Jones and Brock Robinson joined Quigley and Immel to win the 800 relay with a time of 1:37.91. Winneconne’s Ben Harmon was on the winning 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams. In the 1,600, Harmon was joined by Beau Gilbert, Cohen Reetz and Reid Cross with the winning time of 3:37.34. In the 3,200, Gilbert, Sam Sarbo and Cross joined together to win in 8:54.28.

GIRLS

Winneconne’s Sophie Yetter won both distance races, taking first in the 1,600 with a time of 5:23.27 and the 3,200 in 11:42.18. Emily Schell won the shot put and discus with a put of 32-11.75 and a discus throw of 87-3, respectively.

Seymour’s Maya Vande Kolk won the pole vault at a height of 8-6 and the 100 in :12.98.

Shiocton’s Karissa Birch was on the winning 800 relay team with Lexi Riehl, Cordelia Monnont and Destiny Monnot, winning with a time of 1:54.03. Birch also won the 200 in :27.41.

Ryan Westrich of Bonduel won the discus with a throw of 130-7 and the 100-meter dash with a time of :11.51.

Lauren Ripley of St. Mary Catholic won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.63 and was part of the first-place 1,600 relay team along with Maria Marti, Claire Higgins and Norah Lee, winning with a time of 4:19.52. Ripley teamed with Marti, Higgins and Addison Dinka to win the 3,200 in 10:16.30.
