Here’s how NYC students can exercise for free at Planet Fitness this summer

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New York City high school students can get their fitness on for free this summer at Planet Fitness locations across the country.

The fitness company is launching its High School Summer Pass Program, which gives high school students ages 14 to 19 the opportunity to work out for free at any of the over 40 Planet Fitness locations in New York City, and throughout the entire United States and Canada, from June 1 through Aug. 31.

Students can pre-register now at www.planetfitness.com/summerpass.

The High School Summer Pass provides teens with a zero-cost, judgment-free space where they can prioritize their mental and physical well-being during the summer, when many have limited access to school sports programming, gym classes and after-school activities, according to Planet Fitness.

The program gives teens the opportunity to prioritize their mental and physical wellness goals.

Here’s how to take advantage of the program.

  • Sign up for your free High School Summer Pass online or in-club through Aug. 31. If you’re under 18, you’ll need a parent/guardian. Sign up online at planetfitness.com/summerpass.
  • Once you’ve signed up, download the Planet Fitness app to get your Summer Pass digital key tag.
  • Pack your gym bag and head to your home club starting June 1.

It’s important to note that, during the High School Summer Pass program, you will only have access to the club you select. Find the closest Planet Fitness near you.

There are two Planet Fitness locations on Staten Island — 2040 Forest Ave. in Graniteville and 1775 South Ave. in Travis.

All participants will have access to the free fitness classes offered through the Planet Fitness PE@PF program. You can view the class schedule and sign up for classes by visiting your local club. The mobile app also features a variety of workouts that are categorized by fitness level and will help you focus on your personal goals, according to Planet Fitness.
