“Warren Forest Higher Education Council’s Office Manager, Emily Magnuson, left, and Assistant Director Angela Bigelow, kick off the launch of an educational needs assessment. Surveys for individuals and businesses are available at Hi-Ed.org.

Needs in a community change over time.

To that end, the Warren Forest Higher Education Council has launched two surveys — one for individuals and one for businesses — to better understand that evolution.

“We believe that every voice matters in the journey towards educational excellence and equity,” Joan Stitzinger, executive director at Warren Forest Higher Education Council, said.

“The Education Needs Assessment Surveys provide a platform for individuals and businesses to express their perspectives and help us prioritize our efforts in enhancing educational opportunities for everyone.”

Hi-Ed says that understanding the “specific needs, challenges, and aspirations of our community members is essential for creating effective educational programs and initiatives. The survey for individuals aims to gather valuable insights directly from residents across Warren County.”

Topics include access to educational resources and facilities, perspectives on the current state of education in the community, challenges faced by adults to access education, desired areas for improvement in the post-secondary education system and suggestions for improving the alignment between education and workforce needs.

The survey can be accessed online at Hi-Ed.org.

“By participating in this survey, businesses can help identify areas where collaboration between the education sector and the business community can lead to innovative solutions and enhanced educational outcomes,” the agency explains. “(C)ommunity members have the opportunity to voice their opinions, share their experiences, and contribute to shaping the future of education in our community.

“The insights gathered will inform the development of strategies and policies aimed at addressing identified needs and fostering a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for all.”
