Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Monday, May 13.

Softball

Bel Air 16, City 0: The Bobcats shut out the top seed in 3A North Region II. Claire Bowden had two hits, including a home run, and four RBIs. Ava Vecchioni and Elizabeth Zarsona each had two hits with Vecchioni driving in three and Zarsona driving in two. In the circle, Aubrey Buckmaster threw a five-inning one-hitter with 13 strikeouts.

Fallston 5, Havre de Grace 4, 8 innings: The visiting Cougars overcame a four-run deficit and Abagail Marmen drove in the winning run in the eighth inning to beat the Warriors in a Class 1A regional semifinal. Marmen went 3-for-3 with a double, one run scored and four RBIs for Fallston. Maddy Burns worked 4⅓  innings of relief, gave up one hit, walked one and struck out eight for the win.

Patterson Mill 10, Harford Tech 0: The host Huskies had 12 hits and beat the Cobras in a Class 1A regional semifinal. Patterson Mill was led by Kaylyn Pulket (3 runs, 1 RBI), Lily Baldwin (2 runs, 4 RBIs) and Cadence Pfistner (2 runs, 2 RBIs). Winning pitcher Lily Baldwin threw five innings, gave up two hits, walked two and struck out two..

Towson 10, Catonsville 7: Olivia Felton and Hannah McElhenney each drove in three runs as the Generals won their 3A North Region I semifinal. S Murchinson had three hits and two RBIs in the win. Winning pitcher Jelena Gardner struck out nine.

Perry Hall 22, Western 0: Winning pitcher Jenna Neff worked five innings and struck out nine in a perfect game for the host Gators. Perry Hall collected 20 hits and scored 13 runs in the first inning of  a Class 4A regional semifinal. Madison Carl went 4-for-4 with three runs scored, two RBIs and a walk.

Dundalk 27, Western 0: Justice Smith and Kenisha Gelpi each drove in five runs in the big offensive day for the Owls. Smith had three hits, including a triple and a home run, while Gelpi doubled and singled. Julie Burger drove in three runs. In the circle, Burger and Oaklyn Johnson combined for a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

Carver A&T 11, Western Tech 0: The Wildcats (9-10) scored seven runs in the sixth inning and beat the Wolverines in a Class 1A regional semifinal at Catonsville. Freshman Madison Schupple threw 6 Innings, gave up three hits, walked two and struck out eight in the shutout. Haleigh Frye (2-for-3) had a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs for Carver A&T.

Francis Scott Key 10, South Carroll 0: Winning pitcher Jasmine Kline worked five innings, walked two and struck out five in a no-hitter for the host Eagles in a Class 1A regional semifinal. Francis Scott Key scored six runs in the second inning. Emma Taff went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Liberty 13, Catoctin 4: A tight one-run game was blown open with the Lions putting up 10 in the top of the seventh. Erin Martin was one of six Lions with two hits and she drove in a team-high five RBIs. Allison Bald added two RBIs. Sophia Steele went the distance in the circle to get the win. She scattered 10 hits and struck out four.

Walkersville 2, Century 1: Jordan Currie did all she could in the circle to give her Knights a chance into the ninth inning. She went the distance, scattering seven hits and striking out 11, but Walkersville walked off with the win. Abby Mastria drove in Century’s lone run.

Mt. Hebron 7, Westminster 3: Kaelyn Cisna led the Vikings in a Class 3A South Region I semifinal. She went 2-for-4 with five RBIs, including driving in the go-ahead run in the fifth. Abby Magdar also had three hits for Mt. Hebron, earning the win in the circle, striking out nine.

Reservoir 11, River Hill 3: Abbie Frisvold pitched a complete game, striking out 14, as the Gators advanced to the Class 3A South Region II final. Keira Walsh led the offense with four hits, including a double and four RBIs. Andaiye Smith had two hits, including a double, while Michele Mason and Catherine Yourishin each doubled. For River Hill, Cameron Lowe had two home runs, while Zoe Pachoca had two hits.

Centennial 8, Southern-AA 7: The Eagles walked it off in the bottom of the seventh on Maddie Reese’s single. Maddie Hall reached on an infield single and stolen second to start the rally. That was one of Centennial’s eight stolen bases on the day as Layla Schroyer and Bella Leider each stole two. Lauren Jensen earned the win with four innings of relief. Reese, Hall and Julia Braganca each had multiple hits for Centennial. The Eagles advance to the regional final.

Girls lacrosse

Marriotts Ridge 7, Mt. Hebron 4: Freshman Katie Leader led the Mustangs to the Class 3A South Region I title. She scored four times and added an assist, while Bella Boats had a trick. The Mustangs shut out the Vikings in the second half as Kaelyn Krozy made nine saves. For Mt. Hebron, Olivia Hoover scored twice.

South Carroll 8, Liberty 4: Leah Miller had nine draw controls to lead the visiting Cavaliers over the Lions in a Class 1A regional final, ending the playoff run for the three-time 1A state champions. Miller had a goal and two assists. South Carroll got two goals each from Charlotte Harrington and Cathryn Yankle.

Loch Raven 12, Carver A&T 4: The Raiders jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one quarter and never looked back en route to claiming the 1A North Region I championship. Alli Henning poured in seven goals in the win. She also caused three turnovers and collected nine ground balls. Sarah Watkeys and Grace Landry each scored twice with Watkeys adding five ground balls.

Boys lacrosse

Bel Air 17, Poly 5: The visiting Bobcats broke a 2-2 tie with an 8-2 run in the second quarter and beat the Engineers in a Class 3A regional final, Bel Air was led by Devin Trzeciak (6 goals, 2 assists), Ayden Shugart (5 goals, 4 assists) and Grant Smith (1 goal, 4 assists). Patrick Cook made 10 saves and Tyler Maxwell had three saves for the Bobcats.

Fallston 15, Patterson Mill 2: Landon Mills stopped 12 shots as the Cougars cruised to their fourth straight regional championship. The defending 1A state champs got three goals each from Ian Swartzendruber and Gage McKenna. Jacob MacMillan finished with two goals and two assists. McKenna and Nick Nikola each also had two assists.

Baseball

Calvert Hall 12, Archbishop Curley 2: The host Cardinals beat the Friars in six innings to take a 1-0 lead in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference tournament semifinals. Curley will host Calvert Hall in Game 2 Tuesday.

Key School 2, Friends 0: Josh Kamins went 1-2 with a double and Wyatt Dowton went 1-2 with an RBI and the Obezags eliminated the Quakers in an MIAA C Conference playoff game. Chris Williams pitched 6⅓  innings, gave up one hit and struck out for the win.
