Highlights From the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

The wings are back. On Tuesday, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show made a splashy return after a six-year hiatus, painting Brooklyn the brand’s signature pink. So how did it revive the old-school grandeur? The brand’s takeover of the Brooklyn Navy Yard included an icon-filled runway show featuring top models like Gigi Hadid, OG Angels Tyra Banks and Adriana Lima, and legends such as Kate Moss and Carla Bruni, who made their VS fashion-show debut. The night also featured A-list performances from Lisa, Tyla, and the one and only Cher.

Yes, the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show had everything: Cher, motorcycles, a surprise appearance from Bella Hadid, ornate wings, and even a fashionably late Cardi B. Here are highlights from the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Gigi Hadid’s opening walk had full “we’re back” energy. The model walked the runway in a pink plunge silk teddy and, of course, a pair of wide-feathered electronic wings that expanded as the model strutted the stage.

If there’s one thing the Victoria’s Secret show got right, it was this year’s performances. K-pop sensation and Blackpink alum Lisa revved up her engine on the runway, opening the show on a motorcycle with a fleet of leather-clad dancers. Later in the show, Tyla brought the heat, looking like a sparkling angel in an embellished lingerie set and soft, fluffy wings.

Remember when Carrie Bradshaw slipped on the runway after one of her heels slipped off while modeling bedazzled underwear? Well, model Doutzen Kroes had a very similar shoe snafu when one of her heels (which, might I add, didn’t seem to work for most of the models — there was a lot of wobbling going on), got caught in the retractable runway riser and flung off. Luckily, after a few seconds, the model managed to get her shoe back on and came back up like a champ waving her arms in the air and cheering. Talk about a comeback.

OG Angel Adriana Lima made her big return to the Victoria’ Secret show, rocking the runway with a high pony and wearing a black strappy bra and underwear set with a pink-and-black gingham arm and leg overlay.

Dylan Sprouse is undoubtedly Barbara Palvin’s No. 1 fan. The actor walked the pink carpet ahead of the show with two large cutouts of the couple’s pets. During the show, Sprouse took his duties as front-row husband very seriously as he stood up and waved the cardboard cat and dog cutouts just as his wife appeared on the runway. Palvin smiled and waved to her husband — or maybe she was just pleased to see her pets made it into the front row?

During a very unexpected rock-and-roll segment of the show, Kate Moss made her Victoria’s Secret runway debut rocking an edgy black sheer lace slip gown with a matching lace robe and black feathery wings. Prior to her appearance, Moss’s daughter, Lila, also made her VS show debut, strutting around Tyla in a more angelic undergarment ensemble styled with a fringe pink jacket with custom wings that spelled out “Lila” and “VS.”

Alex Consani and Valentina Sampaio made history as the first transgender women to walk the VS show’s coveted runway. Consani sparkled in a matching bra and underwear set styled with silk, puffy-pillow wings while Sampaio traded classic wings for a large holiday bow, which matched her sparkling black bra and beaded skirt.

I mean, what else is there to say? It’s CHER! The legendary superstar brought the venue to life with an electrifying performance of her hits “Strong Enough” and “Believe.”

Guests and viewers received a surprise when Bella Hadid graced the runway during Cher’s finale song, adorned in a red ombré feathered cape with sky-high sleeves and a dramatic train. The model closed out Cher’s performance and what was assumed to be the end of the show …

But that wasn’t all! Because there’s no VS show without the Top Model herself, Tyra Banks. As the staged cleared, the icon elevated from the ground and fiercely set the tone for the grande finale as she pounded the runway in a sparkling corset, glittering leggings, and a metallic cape. Giving full hero, the model strutted and twirled as this year’s cast of 52 models followed behind her, bidding the audience adieu.

Cardi B may have been fashionably late, but missing the early carpet arrivals worked out in her favor when she found her way to the pink carpet after the show and was greeted with a backdrop of pink fireworks.
